At the last minute I decided to set up at Heart of Country Antiques show in Nashville. I haven't done the show since the spring of 2007. I feel like I have been on a show circuit for the last month or so. I am a shop girl and I am not accustomed to doing back to back shows like this. It was just last weekend that we set up at the Lawn and Garden Show of Nashville. My hope is to get many new folks and existing folks to come to the shop and see all of the exciting new things we have just brought in.

This is my booth at the Heart of Country. The tall panels on the back wall are from China. They are beautiful! The bottom of the panels has a wonderful gray paint. We believe that they might have been used as doors at one point. There is evidence on the back that they once had either fabric or glass in them. They were well liked at the show but they haven't found a new home yet. Any takers?

This set of iron sconces made from old iron fence pieces sold at the show. I have one other set left. They are very handsome. The shades are silk over paper.
The painting to the right is of waterlillies and cattails. I love it! It is painted on board. I bought this painting on the floor at the show but decided if I could sell it I would. It is at the shop now, but that is o.k. because I don't mind looking at it.

The round mirror above this game table is a neat piece. It is made of a trash can lid. I think this is a great example of repurposing. Would this fall into the category of one man's trash or trashcan lid is another man's treasure?
Oh, the birch planter holds test tubes that the flowers sit in. These just arrived at the shop and are a huge hit. They sell for around twenty dollars depending on how many tubes you want with them. They are so cool.

The iron table shown in this picture is made from an old balcony rail that my father bought in Philidelphia years ago. He had it made into a table and then finished it with a beautiful limestone slab top. Above the table is a pair of half-round mirrors hung sideways to create a circle. These were originally windows out of a great old house somewhere. They are so fun hanging together like this and I love them with this table. The geometric designs of each complement each other. Oh I almost forgot the brown furniture in the booth, well that is our token Americana piece for the show. It is an early washstand that has wonderful form. The drawer configuration is very unique.

What is this bicycle doing in my pictures? Well this was one piece at the show that I found very interesting. It was in B. Hannah Daniel's booth from Alabama. It has everything on it from a flashlight to a tole tray from a t.v. dinner stand on the back. Evidently the man who owned this ride would take it on a 20 mile journey to another town twice a week. That was all the information she could get on the bike other than the name of the man who owned it and he was Dinky Davis. I was fascinated with this piece.
I want to remind everyone of the Lizzy Designs Jewelry trunk show we are having this Saturday March 21 at the shop from 10-5. Beth, the artist will be there with her wonderful pieces. For those of you who don't know Beth and her jewelry she makes jewelry that is to die for from old vintage broken jewelry and found objects. It is absolutely stunning. Come by to check it out and enjoy some refreshments.
Sincerely,
Scarlett
