Christmas Open House at Scarlett Scales Antiques

On Saturday November 7th we had our first annual Christmas open house at Scarlett Scales Antiques. There are 4 full size white trees in our store. For those of you who have been to our shop you know and can appreciate what it takes to set up that many trees in our small shotgun house. One tree is all vintage and vintage inspired ornaments. We have several trees with distressed mercury glass ornaments and lots and lots of glitter. I must admit I love it all! I love all of the light that the trees put off in the shop. Also our bay window at the shop holds a white tree with all red ornaments that is sitting on of course a zinc table! It is really exciting. There are lots of pictures for you to see. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you see anything you like.
Sincerely,
Scarlett

Recent shop redo

Here are some pictures of the shop after a recent redo. I love to shake the place up and make it look different and really cool but as soon as I do something always sells. That is the point right?? Not complaining but I just snapped a few quick pictures while things are sitting still for now. Some of these pieces are things I just got in Brimfield and Columbus. I have several projects from Brimfield that I need to have reupholstered and mirrors put in etc. etc. there is always something that needs to be done around here. I love it!
Sincerely,
Scarlett

The Country Living Fair at Columbus

The Country Living Fair this year was great! We didn't have the horrible weather that we had last year. Our booth was packed with great shoppers most of the show. The people at this show are so nice and receptive to us it is a pleasure to do. However, this show is exhausting (aren't they all) there are so many people that we had a line most of the time and we had three of us working the booth! The show is really fun to shop at too. Gail and Debbie both went with me and we all took turns going shopping around at the show. I got a really cute necklace made by a girl who was set up at the show. I think I am going to start carrying her jewelry at the shop. Also the lady set up next to us made really wonderful candles and we all bought some of those. It is just a wonderful show that is full of eye candy. But as always I am so glad to be back home.
Sincerely,
Scarlett

Project House

This is the house I bought last month to "fix up". As you can see I have my work cut out for me. I believe that just getting the trees cut down will make a major improvement. I need to decide if I am going to paint the inside myself or if I am going to hire it out. While I am really excited to get this place I can suddenly see how buying an investment property can be really stressful! I will keep you posted on the progress and would love suggestions along the way.
Sincerely,
Scarlett
